36×36 Mega White Technical Porcelain Tile Has No Glaze or Print.
When we look at a porcelain or ceramic tile, the design and the color that we see are actually is a digital image under a protective layer that we call the glaze. Technical porcelain tile, on the other hand, has no glaze. It’s made with thinner and purer raw materials that can help the mass (body) vitrify during the firing process where the kin temperature goes way above than glazed porcelain tiles. As a result, technical porcelain tile becomes extremely dense and strong that can survive unfavorable conditions that a glazed tile won’t survive.
Limitations of Technical Porcelain Tile
As much as the end product comes with extreme durability, it has design and color limitations. For example, It’s impossible to make a tile that looks like marble or has wood grains with such technic. The surface of the technical porcelain is the same is as the body. What wee see is not a digital print. Therefore, It’s not possible to achieve the same bright white color of a digital image. The world’s most white clay comes from Ukraine and Mega White is as white as technical porcelain can be. However, It’s not as white as digital tiles.
