Grey Tile Altamura Comes With 14 Faces.

The print on the tiles is called a face. Whereas all old tiles had the same single face throughout the entire lot, today tiles are made with multiple faces to improve the resemblance to the natural stones.  Grey Tile Altamura Pearl comes 14 different high definition faces to ensure a realistic stone effect. While most European tiles are available with 6 to 8 faces, Altamura Pearl’s 14 faces make it very difficult for the eye to catch the repeat. Slight veining in white color over a beautiful grey background makes this tile a great choice for modern interiors. The flawless polished finish takes this tile’s quality to another level.

30×30 is one of the most popular tile sizes in the flooring industry. It covers appx 6 square foot per pieces. Suc size reduces the seam and the grout on the floor by 50% compared t0 24×24 tiles. Besides, It makes the rooms feel more spacious. Most glossy tiles come with a shiny glaze. They are famous for being slippery, and they don’t shine like marble. Altamura Pearl, on the other hand, comes with the true polished finish that adds marble-like shine to the porcelain tile. Moreover, the polished tiles are less slippery than shiny tiles.

Grey Tile Altamura Pearl’s Water Absorption and PEI

Water absorption is the only difference between porcelain and ceramic tile. Therefore, it’s also the single value that indicates the hardness of the tile. For the ceramic to become porcelain, it must have 0.5% or lower water absorption. Grey Tile Altamura Pearl comes with water absorption of 0.1% or below. Altamura Pearl is an extremely hard porcelain tile.

Generally speaking, ceramic and porcelain tiles are glazed products. PEI is a test that measures the abrasion of the glaze on a scale from I to V under foot traffic. The recommended value for residential surfaces is PEI-III, for commercial surfaces is PEI-IV. PEI-V is recommended for extreme foot areas such as airports or malls. Unlike most people think, PEI doesn’t indicate the durability of the porcelain tile. A PEI-III porcelain tile will last much longer than a PEI-V ceramic tile. Porcelain is an extremely tough product. The durability of the tile depends on the quality of setting materials along with the quality of the installation. All porcelain tiles are made within the PEI-III and IV rate. Grey Tile Altamura Pearl’s PEI value is IV.
