Porcelain Tile Plank Palio Beige ’s Water Absorption and PEI

What we call a porcelain tile is a ceramic tile with lower absorption. Therefore, water absorption is the only difference between porcelain and ceramic. It’s also the single technical value that indicates the hardness of the tile. Porcelain Tile Plank Palio Beige comes with water absorption of 0.5% or below.

What’s PEI

Most ceramic and porcelain tiles’ surface is glazed. PEI is an abrasion test that indicates the wear and tear of the glazed surface on a scale from I to V. The recommended value for residential surfaces is PEI-III, for commercial surfaces is PEI-IV. PEI-V is recommended for extreme foot traffic areas such as malls or airports. However, almost all porcelain tiles are made within the PEI-III and PEI-IV rate.

Since the durability of a tile depends on its water absorption levels, Even a PEI-II porcelain tile will last much longer than a PEI-V ceramic tile.

Porcelain Tile Plank Palio Beige is a beautiful, high-quality porcelain tile that will complement a modern or contemporary style more than any other tile in this category. Even though It’s a tile that will stand out with its graphic work, It’s a tile that will blend with its pastel colors. Its PEI number is IV.

What’s the Difference Between Porcelain and Ceramic Tile?

Argenta is one of the world's largest porcelain manufacturers out of Spain. They offer great value for the quality, which makes them one of the most popular brands among mainstream distributors. Therefore We've been getting inquiries about some of their products from customers who recently purchased their tiles in a tile store.

The lines that we carry are exclusive to us. The lines that distributors carry are exclusive to them.

Distributor tiles can only be purchased from their retailers. A tile retailer is usually a tile store with thousands of tiles displayed on waterfall racks. If you are missing a few boxes to finish the job, unfortunately, you need to wait until the distributor receives the new shipment.  We can only help you with Argenta Products that we display on our website.
