Pressed

Large Format Sizes at Tiles & Stone Warehouse

Pressed wall tiles are manufactured using traditional tile pressing methods that create slightly softened edges and subtle surface character. Unlike rectified tiles with perfectly sharp edges, pressed tiles are sometimes intentionally designed this way to achieve a more classic and authentic look.

This technique is especially common in subway tiles and decorative wall formats such as 10×30, where preserving the traditional appearance is part of the design. The gently rounded edges allow grout lines to become a natural part of the installation, creating the timeless style associated with classic subway tile layouts.

Pressed tiles are commonly used for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, shower surrounds, and decorative features, where their softer edges add depth and character while maintaining a clean and elegant appearance. Some older porcelain tile sizes are also still manufactured with pressed edges to provide budget-friendly alternatives while maintaining refined designs and a premium porcelain body
