Description
Onyx Flooring Tile Agra D’Oro is another high-end porcelain tile from Italian La Fabrica. This tile has fantastic graphics mimicking a semi-precious stone. Normally we don’t come across semi-precious stones as flooring materials due to hefty cost. Moreover, semi-precious stones require enormous upkeep. On the other hand, La Fabrica’s superior graphics layer decoration makes this beautiful look available for a reasonable price with no maintenance at all. On top of all, Agra D’Oro is available with a mirror-shine polished finish. This is a precious stone made of porcelain that we can use to decorate our interiors.
Besides fantastic graphics and the beautiful polished finish, Onyx flooring Tile Agra D’Oro comes with color-body that one would expect from a high-end porcelain tile.
Even though glossy tiles have been around for ages, the polished finish is a new technique for the porcelain industry that requires a sophisticated process that adds much more value to the tile. Such finish is usually available in European tiles that are bigger than 24×24. Polished tiles are also much harder than traditional shiny tiles. Polished tiles also undergo a nano sealing process that adds some friction to the surface. Therefore they are not as slippery as shiny tiles.
24×48 tiles are one of the most popular ones with their large size. These tiles reduce the grout and seam by half compared to old 24×24 tiles. Agra D’Oro will definitely make your floors feel more spacious its large size.
Onyx Flooring Tile Agra D’Oro’s Water Absorption and PEI
Porcelain is a product of ceramic with stronger mass. Its density is measured with its water absorption levels. A” dry pressed ceramic tile with water absorption ≤0.5″ label is the indicator of porcelain tiles. ASTM C1027 is often misused as PEI and most people are under the impression that PEI indicates the tile’s quality. Indeed, ASTM C1027 measures the visual abrasion of the glaze.
ASTM C1027.19 (2019 edition) recommends the following classes
- Class5: Heavy Commercial: suitable for intense commercial and all residential.
- Class4: Commercial: suitable for medium commercial and all residential.
- Class3: Heavy Residential, Light Commercial; suitable for all residential, average abrasion.
However, for commercial floors unglazed through-body or double-charged tiles are more suitable.
Onyx Flooring Tile Agra D’Oro is a Class 4 tile. It comes with water absorption ≤ 0.1% It’s on the higher end of porcelain tiles.
