Porcelain Tile That Looks Like Marble Is A Timeless Option For Interiors

Styles come and go. Tastes in interior design change. However, some styles are timeless. They last forever. Just like the look of marble floors that have been around for millenniums. Its beautiful look, elegant style, and luxurious feel always attract many people. Today, some porcelain tiles can mimic the marble look with an unnoticeable difference due to the inkjet technology and the polished finish.  If you like marble in the earth tones, you can have the same exact look on a significantly lower budget and no maintenance at all with a porcelain tile that looks like marble.

Why Large Format Tile?

Tiles are floor covering materials. Whatever we cover, we want to cover it with the biggest possible piece. Since a single piece of tile that can cover the entire floors doesn’t exist, the best solution is to use the biggest piece. So that we can eliminate the seam issue. If you think that this marble look tile is too big for your floors, you should keep in mind that even in a small bathroom floor is much bigger than the tile itself.

Porcelain is a product of ceramic with stronger mass. Its density is measured with its water absorption levels.  A” dry pressed ceramic tile with water absorption ≤0.5″ label is the indicator of porcelain tiles. ASTM C1027 is often misused as PEI and most people are under the impression that PEI indicates the tile’s quality. Indeed, ASTM C1027 measures the visual abrasion of the glaze.

ASTM C1027.19 (2019 edition)  recommends the following classes

  1. Class5: Heavy Commercial: suitable for intense commercial and all residential.
  2. Class4:  Commercial: suitable for medium commercial and all residential.
  3. Class3: Heavy Residential, Light Commercial; suitable for all residential, average abrasion.

However, for commercial floors unglazed through-body or double-charged tiles are more suitable.
