Concrete Gray has the look of industrial cement or concrete floors in gray. Rather than dark or light gray, this tile’s background is medium gray. It has minimal design variation that reflects its industrial style. Like all large-format residential porcelain tiles from Seranit, this tile’s porcelain body has the same density as commercial-grade tiles made for extra-heavy foot traffic. Its color extends through the body to match the surface. Concrete Gray porcelain tile is a great option for interior floors and walls. It can also be used for exterior applications. However, we don’t suggest dark-colored porcelain tiles for exterior areas that receive lots of sun if you’ll be walking barefoot.
Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.
