Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls.
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.

Manufactured in Spain, this rectified porcelain tile is produced for precise sizing and dimensional consistency. While all ceramic and porcelain tiles carry a standard manufacturing tolerance of approximately ±1 mm, rectification significantly reduces size variation compared to non-rectified tiles. Consistent calibration helps maintain more uniform grout joints and improved alignment across the installation. Even small dimensional differences can accumulate over large areas, so precision sizing plays an important role in achieving a clean, professional result.
Available in 24×48 and 48×48 large-format sizes, Urban Grey is designed to reduce grout lines and visual interruption. The 48×48 format creates a bold, expansive surface, while the 24×48 option offers flexibility for layouts where movement and practicality matter. The 24×48 size is also available in matte and grip finishes, making it suitable for outdoor areas and spaces requiring additional slip resistance.

This tile has a very low water absorption rate of 0.1%, tested under ISO 10545-3, the international standard used to measure water absorption in ceramic and porcelain tiles. A 0.1% absorption rate is well below the porcelain requirement of 0.5% or less, making the tile highly dense, frost resistant, and suitable for demanding floor and wall applications.
