Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work

Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls. Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish. For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required. A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.

Dark Wood Looks Classy.

No matter what interior style you choose, classy is an upscale feel that you may want to add to it. Dark color floors and wall are the common elements of such feel: like the dark floors of an expensive store or dark color bathrooms of an upscale building. Porcelain Tile Wood- Montana Wenge has a color scale that can add an upscale tag to any interior.  Plus, it comes for a significantly lower cost and maintenance than the real wood.

Porcelain Tile Wood – Montana Series Tiles are also available in Walnut, Ash, Maple, colors.

Superior features of porcelain tiles are redefining the use of the beauty of the wood look in living spaces.  Since porcelain tile wood performs well in wet areas.  Most of these tiles have been inspiring many people also for bathrooms designs. Montana Wenge would definitely make a statement in a bathroom.

Porcelain Tile Wood – Montana Wenge’s Water Absorption and PEI

The hardness of the tile is measured by its water absorption. Moreover, water absorption is the only distinction between ceramic and porcelain tile. Ceramic products with water absorption of 0.5% and lower are porcelain tiles. Therefore water absorption is the only technical value to determine a tile’s durability. Porcelain tile wood Montana Wenge comes with water absorption of 0.5% or below. It’s a very tough tile.

Glaze is the last layer of most tiles. It largely consists of liquid glass. It can be matte or glossy.

PEI measures the glaze’s abrasion under foot traffic on a scale I to V.  It doesn’t indicate scratch resistance or the durability of the tile. Porcelain tiles are extremely tough products. As much as the durability of the tile depends on its hardness, it also depends on the quality of the installation and the setting materials. PEI-III for residential, PEI-IV for light commercial areas such as restaurant, stores, etc and PEI-V is for extreme foot traffics areas such as malls and airports. Montana Wenge comes with PEI-III
