Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work

Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls. Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish. For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required. A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.

This durable, hardwood alternative offers great longevity. Besides, porcelain tiles clean with a little effort, and they don’t require maintenance. They are extremely hard to scratch.

Barnwood tiles are popular with their rustic style. If you want to create a cozy style that feels homy or you want to add a modern style to your interiors, Barnwood Tile Selandia Miele is an excellent option. When installed, it will be very hard to tell for your visitors that what you have on the floors is tile but not the real hardwood.

Barnwood Tile Selandia Miele ’s Water Absorption and PEI

A porcelain tile is indeed a ceramic tile with lower absorption. Therefore, water absorption is the only difference between porcelain and ceramic tiles. It’s also the technical value that defines the hardness of a tile. Barnwood Tile Selandia Miele comes with a water absorption of 0.5% or below. When shopping for porcelain tile, the most important technical value that we have to take to consideration is its water absorption level.

Tile Size Matters for An Up-to-date Look. We suggest 8×48 planks.

Barnwood Tile Selandia Miele comes in 8×48 planks size. Today, wood tiles that cover around 2.5 sqft to 2.77 sqft per piece are the most popular sizes in the industry. Whereas planks up to 72″ long are now available, those tiles are not yet in a mature stage and tend to warp more than they should. Therefore, those planks require an expensive clips system that can level the corner but can’t straighten the entire tile.
At Tiles & Stone Warehouse, we’re in touch with the largest, most trusted tiles manufacturers across Europe on a daily base. We believe possessing the knowledge that our customers can rely on is a duty and a responsibility. Therefore, we do not yet display wood tiles over 48″ long, nor 6×24 6×36,6×40 tiles that we believe are too small.
