Description
The Intarsi Civita offers a seamless, large-format interpretation of the timeless basketweave mosaic. This design captures the traditional “over-under” woven aesthetic of classic masonry, providing a sense of architectural texture and historical depth while maintaining the clean, expansive look of a modern 24×48 porcelain tile.
By utilizing high-definition 3D printing technology, the Intarsi Civita recreates the appearance of individually hand-set marble “laths” interwoven with contrasting dark cabochons. This allows you to achieve the intricate visual complexity of a traditional basketweave floor without the labor-intensive installation or the maintenance challenges of high-frequency grout lines.
The surface is engineered with a Satin-Touch finish, offering a sophisticated, non-reflective appearance that enhances the “woven” illusion. This finish provides a tactile, matte feel that is soft to the touch yet incredibly durable for high-traffic environments.
Built for professional performance, the Intarsi Civita meets the industry standard DCOF > 0.42 (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction). It complies with standards for level interior spaces expected to be walked upon when wet, making it a reliable choice for expansive residential main floors and high-end commercial projects.
Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls.
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.
