Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls.
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.

A commercial-grade porcelain tile is usually called technical porcelain. It’s the type of porcelain tile that can withstand unfavorable conditions of high traffic public and commercial floors. These tiles are completely vitrified and not glazed. Therefore, they are much harder and stronger than traditional porcelain tiles. Cosmos White Cement Tile’s Water absorption is 0.06% vs porcelain tile’s 0.5% Moreover, their extremely hard composition results in higher shine levels for the polished finish. Besides they are far more resistant to scratches.
No Glaze, No Print. All The Way Through Porcelain.
Cosmos White Cement Tile’s design is not a print. its grey color movements are injected halfway through the tile. While its background color goes all the way through. Therefore, we have an entire tile that will withstand the abrasion. Not only a layer of glaze. Hardness is a factor for abrasion. Commercial grade porcelain tiles are extremely dense tiles.
