Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls.
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.

What is Through Body Plain White Porcelain Tile?
Most porcelain or ceramic tiles come with an image printed in the porcelain body. The image is often covered with a vitrified layer that we call glaze. Therefore, when a tile chips, the color that we see underneath is different from the top of the tile. However, through-body tiles are made differently. Its color is not an image. It’s the color of the porcelain that is consistent throughout the mass, and it has no glaze. The top, the body, the back are all the same.
Moreover, Mega White is fired past vitrification levels. The entire tile is harder than the glaze that is normally the hardest layer of the tiles. Therefore, these tiles require more expensive, thinner, and purer raw materials along with longer firing durations in special kilns.
The Most White or The Highest Quality?
If you are looking for stark white floors, Mega White is not for you. The print on the tile is, in the end, a dye that is covered with the glaze that also contains dye in it. In order to obtain the maximum strength to deliver such high performance, through-body tiles contain significantly less dye, and they are only a little more white than the white clay. Therefore, these tiles cannot be stark white.
