40×40 Naos White porcelain tile comes with an elegant white marble-look design. This tile has thin veins in a soft gray color. It’s similar to Carrara marble, with a whiter background and less veining. Whether it’s for kitchen, bathroom, or living room floors, it’s a beautiful white tile that offers an upscale feel.
Marble-Look Porcelain Tiles Come in Different Styles
Just like real marble, marble-look tiles come in different colors and veining to suit our taste in interior styling. However, white marble floors are the most popular ones for their luxurious feel and versatile style. While Naos White is suitable for both contemporary and traditional interiors, the 40×40 size will also provide a clean look for floors. Its matte finish is ideal for a subtle style.
Porcelain is a product of ceramic with a stronger mass. Its density is measured by its water absorption levels. A “dry-pressed ceramic tile with water absorption ≤0.5%” label is an indicator of porcelain tiles. ASTM C1027 is often misused as PEI, and most people are under the impression that PEI indicates the tile’s quality. Indeed, ASTM C1027 measures the visual abrasion of the glaze.
ASTM C1027.19 (2019 edition) recommends the following classes.
- Class 5: Heavy Commercial: suitable for intense commercial and all residential use.
- Class 4: Commercial: suitable for medium commercial and all residential use.
- Class 3: Heavy Residential, Light Commercial; suitable for all residential use with average abrasion.
However, for commercial floors, unglazed through-body or double-charged tiles are more suitable.

Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.
