Where to Use This Tile, and How Tile Finishes Work
Porcelain tile can be used as floor or wall tile in almost any interior room, except for shower pans. Once installed, porcelain tiles are waterproof, frost-resistant, and heat-resistant. Porcelain tiles are also excellent choices for exterior walls.
Standard matte, satin, and polished finishes usually have similar slip-resistance levels unless the tile is specifically rated as an In & Out or Grip finish.
For pool areas, a Grip finish is preferred. For outdoor areas that may get wet, an In & Out finish is usually the better choice. However, any wet surface can become slippery depending on the angle, speed, amount of water, and how the area is used, so caution is always required.
A DCOF rating above 0.42 is considered the beginning level of slip resistance. Tiles with more surface friction usually attract more dirt and dust, which is why they are generally preferred for outdoor areas.

Water Absorption
The only difference between porcelain and ceramic is water absorption. A porcelain tile is a ceramic tile with water absorption of 0.5%. Therefore, water absorption is the single technical value to define the hardness of a tile. Selandia Haya’s water absorption is below 0.5%.
Harder tiles are technically more durable. However, the durability of the tile doesn’t only depend on the tile. This is also true of Selandia Haya. It also depends on the installation and the quality of the setting materials. You may want to make sure that your installer is using a good adhesive and installing your tiles without leaving hollow spots under the tiles.
